Crack Repair
A cracked alloy wheel can cause pressure loss and needs proper assessment. Where the location and extent of the damage make repair appropriate, specialist welding may provide a repair route. Where it is not suitable, replacement is the safer answer.

Repairability comes before appearance.
Crack repair is different from cosmetic refurbishment. The first step is to understand where the crack is, how extensive it is and whether the wheel is otherwise in serviceable condition. We do not treat every crack as automatically repairable.

Do not continue driving on a wheel you believe may be cracked or unsafe. If you are losing pressure or can see significant damage, arrange inspection and follow appropriate tyre/wheel safety advice.

Crack Repair FAQs
Can every cracked alloy be welded?
No. Repair depends on the position and severity of the crack, the wheel condition and whether repair is considered appropriate.
My tyre keeps losing pressure. Could the wheel be cracked?
It is one possible cause, but pressure loss can have several causes. The tyre and wheel should be inspected properly.
Can the repaired area be refinished?
Where appropriate, cosmetic finish work can be discussed after the structural repair route has been confirmed.
